Goddess Garden Organics

June 10, 2015

"You’ll be glad to learn that Goddess Garden’s Sunscreens are indeed vegan. No animal products are used in our formulas, and all products are cruelty free as well. You can read more about our ingredients here: http://www.goddessgarden.com/pages/our-ingredients
We manufacture our own product, and are not owned by another company.
Our distribution is currently limited for the most part to the US and Canada, with some sales in Europe. We do not sell or distribute in China where animal testing is required."
Generic response about vegan products, not really talking about their animal testing policy. Requested clarification.

UPDATE:
June 12, 2015
"No, we do not test on animals, nor do we hire a third party to test on animals.
No, none of our ingredients are tested on animals.
We don't believe that any of our suppliers test on animals, but we don't require verification that our suppliers don't test.
We are required to test the water resistance claims and SPF ratings by the FDA. These tests are done via a third party, but not on animals (SPF and water resistance tests are done on people)."
Based on this response, I can't consider this company cruelty-free, since they don't require verification from their suppliers.
